A select amount of interviews of the thoughts of the show ‘Proper Clever’. A lot were varied and constructive.

Opinions of ‘Proper Clever’ were all really positive. From comments such as “Wonderful, funny and completely mad!” to “I LOVED the ginger guy! the gingers have got to stick together!” to “Three people I met today said they’d seen it and loved it”, all show how much of an effect the play has really had.
Past teachers of the writer to general fans of his work all really seemed to enjoy the performance, the majority being impressed with the technical side and modern look on typical teenage life.
I even met people who had seen the play previously and come back for more.
Friends of the cast commented on the play also giving great insight into peoples opinions of ‘Proper Clever’, whether linked to the cast and storyline or not.

Thoughts before the performance (23/10/08) all seemed really positive and encouraging.
A range of people and ages seemed to have similar opinions in that they expected the play to be “very funny” and “as successful as Boyce’s other work”. Other comments from a variety of families said that they had heard great things about ‘Proper Clever’ and that people they know who have seen it previously said all good things. Comments such as “Coming to the theatre is just something different to do” and “My Dad said it would be good!” were popular amongst the audience also.
Furthermore, it was really encouraging to see such a diverse audience and such a good atmosphere at the Playhouse. I am really looking forward to finding out everybody’s opinions after the performance, to see whether it met their expectations!
