After show comments:

Interesting and good for people who don’t often go to the theatre,Loved the effects,Very educational and some people can relate to the situations that the characters found themselves in! Angie and her friend Jeannete quoted “Now that was Proper Clever!”

The cast of Proper Clever will be in the virtual hotseat this week. Log in this Thursday evening, Saturday afternoon or next Monday evening to put your questions to the actors. Check out the virtual hotseat page for who’s chatting when.

We went to the post show discussion after the live proper clever show and listened in on a few questions. A audience member asked how long it took to rehearse for the play and ‘Bex with an X’ told us only four weeks. Another audience member asked if Frank (the writer) had any plans to tour with the play and we were told no but he would like to write another play if asked, as he enjoyed writing ‘Proper Clever’ a lot. Frank Cottrell-Boyce also told us that his play was intending to get more young people into the theatre and he loved writing a play specifically aimed at Liverpool. Somebody asked what the cast member thought about the goddess ending and if they thought it fitted the play. Riley answered she thought that it make the play something else, and completely different. Rachel told us that she thought it brought a new level of intelligence to the play and ended with ‘you either get it or you dont’

There was a large audience tonight in the playhouse theatre ranging from all ages;Families with young children and groups of teenagers gathered waiting excitedly in the waiting area to watch the show. Many audience members said they had already heard amazing reviews of the play from close friends and some family members and so where expecting high standard performances from the cast. Young teenagers said there schools had been talking about the new play ‘proper clever’ for days as the word must be quickly spreading round town. The atmosphere was loud and lively as people from all around Merseyside travelled to watch the brilliant play !!!!

Tonight’s performance was not a full house, but a strong atmosphere could be felt within the audotorium. Applauses came when unrequired, and the laughs came like a gushing waterfall.
“I saw this play on the website, and I am looking forward to it very much.”
And the audience were not dissapointed.
“Amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole play and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone,” said Kelly, who seemingly had a brilliant time.
All in all, although a quiet night, the audience’s strong positive reaction made it an excellent night.
